Great Lakes area--good games needs competitors

All athletes in/around the Great Lakes or willing to come visit:

August 22nd. there's a good little games being held as part of a Festival in Kalamazoo Michigan. I competed here last year and atletes are treated well. This is a very friendly and low key games. I think I was more sore from laughing through the day then I was from throwing--but that's not to say it's not run seriously. All rules/regs etc adhered to.

This is a good place for A's, B's and even Novices--we had a novice last year and everyone chipped right in to help him out and make him feel comfortable. Little bugger even had the nerve to have pretty decent form.

And yep--the Masters (even old and stubbies like me) fit in and have fun.

I went there and watched before I started throwing, I thought it was a good games as well, and wanted to compete there. But I moved before getting the chance. It has gotten some bad word of mouth the last couple of years that I don't think it deserved. If your in or around Mi give it a shot, I think you will have a great day.

Yeah one year there was some strangeness, but they fixed whatever problems there were and they're REALLY appreciative of athletes there now. Its a small community festival and with so many closing due to current economic realities--its good to see a games like this keep charging through.

I've decided to pass on a larger games to attend this one--so I can be part of supporting something important for a smaller community. I figure that if we all do what we can--maybe so many festivals won't have to close.

    So throwers--if you're close by--come on out--you'll have a good time.
