2009 Salina, KS Scottish Rite Inductees

Yesterday evening I discovered that I was out of beer, so a quick jaunt to the store for
re-supplies and a sub, nothing fancy.

We left Manhattan Kansas at 0600 and headed west on I-70 towards Salina to attend the Scottish Rite Spring Reunion.

This is what I decided to wear after contemplating the various kilts, shirts, and ties.

The sporran is based on my ring and also comes from the Fourteenth Degree, Virtus junxit, mors non separabit? Virtue has united, and death shall not separate.

The Scottish Rite Inductees and officials.

Here are some of the members of the Isis Shrine Pipe Band and Knights of Saint Andrew Society.

Here is one of the sets from the 30th degree Knight Kadosh, or Knight of the White and Black Eagle. These sets are extremely old and nice to look at, the detail is quite impressive.

Another view from the set from the 30th degree Knight Kadosh, or Knight of the White and Black Eagle. These sets are extremely old and nice to look at, the detail is quite impressive.

Here we have our Blue Lodge Worshipful Master Brother Kalivoda as Lieutenant of the Guard, he just loves the hat.

The architecture in the Masonic Hall is quite impressive with all of its marble and various chandeliers. Here I am descending the stairs onto the main floor.

I saved the best for last. Here we have an entire family of Mason’s from W Kansas. The father is behind my right arm wearing the fly plaid, then his son in the clergy tartan, and the two brothers in the front. I am pretty sure that this was the larges group of kilted candidates the Scottish Rite has seen in one class in many years.
