Why are kilts not a category on ebay?
Hi folks, this is something I have been wondering about for a little while. One would think with the popularity of the ultimate gartment, ebay would allow you to search kilts as a separate clothing category. Surely this would allow us to narrow down searches somewhat? Or perhaps I am missing a trick with how I am searching, so if anyone can suggest how I can refine my hunts, I'd appreciate it!

When you put "kilt" or "kilts" in their search you get anything that has the word included in the description.
I don't know if an email to Ebay asking for a separate category would get anywhere as even if they did the sellers determine the category and could still well put kilt for kilt related items just as they do in their descriptions.

Searching for 'kilt' can result in lots of unwanted items, so you might consider more specific arguments, such as
including the waist measurement [kilt 32],
kiltmaker [utilikilt -or- alpha kilt],
tartan [kilt stewart]
You can also eliminate items from the search by preceding them with a hyphen [ - ], for example, kilt -skirt -apron -pin -koozie -belt -buckle -rowdy [and so on ...]

Hmm, there used to be a kilt category under clothing, mens. Wonder what happened to it?

Ebay auto suggest has:
scottish kilts
mens kilts
irish kilts
It will still return anything with kilt, like kilt hose, kilt jacket, etc. I see that as a benefit, however, not a hindrance. I need to put together an outfit, I'm always on the lookout.....
