Kilt hygiene "underkilt"

Ive been looking through the various topics of kilt hygiene and saw some folk wear under-ware some boxers while others wear long shirts and most folk just nothing at all (well apart from the hose and footwear) and with the news mentioning that kilt hiring companies want future customers to wear under-ware here in scotland

i was wondering if there was such a thing as a "under kilt" for kilts similar to what most would refer to as a underskirt i gather,
i saw a post about from a member mentioning they converted boxers by altering the seams which in some ways would make a "underkilt" of sorts does such a thing as a "underkilt" exist and/or has anyone actually made one yet ,
id imagine if it did exist hire companies would be given them away as part of a kilt hire package for the sake of kilt hygiene for future users and let them keep them
as much as i plan to go "scantless" as my pop would say i`d like my new kilt to stay as clean as i can keep it without messing about with the "scantless" tradition

I think you may have just invented the new kilt accessory. I see nothing but dollar signs and possible very humorous infomercials in your future.

thanks but i reckon someone somewhere has made one of these "underkilts " after all invention is more or less pointing out something that already exists

There are vendors on the forum that make "kilt length" shirts that work wonderfully for this purpose. I'm not sure if Freedom Kilts is still making these shirts but Celtic Warrior Kilts (Wolfgore) does have them available. They are made to order as opposed to off-the-rack.

Yes, there has been some discussion and even a supplier on ebay of what is really a slip that is made to order.

Actually they are being made. In fact one is being made for me @ this time by the member BIG MICKEY mentioned ( Celtic Warrior Kilts (Wolfgore)

Like your "pop" advised, keep your KILT clean.

thanks folks,
i had a peek on ebay and saw those kilt slips bit pricey with postage for something so small and light but i reckon i could have someone make me one up over here with a old t-shirt or shirt and some elastic or even try my hand at it

I have been making very limited numbers of UnderKilts for years now.

Here is how I do them.

Take a new t-shirt that has a chest measurement larger than your hip measurement.

Cut if off just below the armpits.

Sew a length of elastic to the now top opening. Just like the waistband on regular Jockey shorts.

Pull the t-shirt on like a ladies slip.

Don the Kilt. Voila. The UnderKilt!!!!

I think I can make one in about 20 min. The length of a t-shirt is almost perfect. If it is a little long roll the waistband up once or twice till you get the length worked out and then re-stitch it.

GREAT, a VERY PRACTICAL solution, IMHO.
