Patent Leather repair
Be grateful for any advice here, I gubbed my patent buckle brogues at a wedding recently, just a couple of scores but deep enough to be noticeable, what the recommended repair as I'm too tight to by a new pair.

Is there a cobbler you could take them to? I feel pretty confident that Edinburgh would have at least one or two, especially since my small town here in the U.S. has one. That would be my first choice as far as repair. If not, maybe someone who works with other types of leather goods could be of some help.

Do you know what the finnish is made of on the shoes? That will make a huge difference in the repair approach, from what I understand.
That being said, MOR once said that he polishes his pattent leather pumps with cigar ash. Got a stogie?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
