Well I may not be able to wear to school
I have been wearing the kilt more often the last couple of weeks (3 times gasp!). In auto tech, we were studying for the test so we weren't working on cars which permitted me to wear the kilt. Its seriously not a safe idea to wear a kilt while working here, besides the grime and dirt, I could flash me undies which is against school dress code. Today was the last day with auto tech but I've learned today that auto tech 2, which I'm taking next year, is going to be all year round not one semester- which means no kilt at school...YAY!! .
anyone share my dilemma?
On an up note, a while ago I found out that a teacher/coach at my school is a highland games athlete.

I'm looking into going into land and resource management with the forestry service. The training program is a lot of hands-on stuff (not to mention the fa that there is a nationally accepted uniform- like the postal service has! ), so it's very possible that I will be right there with you in the fall.

What a bummer for ya both, but having a teacher who competes in the games should be a good thing for sure. Luck to ya both.

I see the auto tech shop from my scene shop at the college where I teach. Most of the auto tech students seem to change from what ever they are wearing for the day into a jumpsuit type thing for the class, and then change out of it again. As someone who bikes to work, and then changes into his kilt, I can attest to the kilt being an easy outfit to change in and out of. Just an idea to keep you kilted and in the class you love.
I wish I had something funny or profound to put in a signature.

Genius! Cept, I don't know if we have a worksuit. But I guess I could change out/in it. Why didn't I think of that? guess thats why I'm still in school.

I am currently working at a desk job (insurance customer service,) this allows me fully to wear my kilt to work. Currently in school I am doing the required pre courses for nursing, again I can wear my kilt as I like with the exception to the chemistry labs (understandable there too.) However, once I start the nursing program... no more kilted education. Once I finish school and start nursing... I will no longer be able to work kilted. I wonder however, when I start grad school, with my lecture courses allow me to be kilted? We'll just have to wait the 4 years to see!
I joked to a coworker who knows my educational plans, that I decided not to go into nursing anymore. She asked the reasons behind my choice. I jokingly replied, "I won't be able to go to work in a kilt."
