Celebrating Kilted
This past Sunday was the Quadricentennial Of Henry Hudson's discovery of the Hudson River. There was a big outdoor party with band and Tall Ships and seeing that it was such a lovely day and the 65th anniversary of D-Day, I was out in my kilt. Got asked "the Question" one time and responded with the Hose and shoes answer and got asked were my Bagpipes were twice. I responded both times with " right under my kilt", which got a great laugh both times. One person asked me what I was celebrating and I told them D-Day. They stopped and thought about that and said "yeah I should have remembered that". I was the only kilted one there but got many thumbs up and approving glances and had my picture taken several times. All in all, a good day.
By Choice, not by Birth

Sounds like a great day!
Don't people realize that Hudson was Scottish?

Surely an accident of geography. A man born in a stable is not a horse.

I can't say I've ever seen any documentation that Hudson was a Scot; do you have a source for your claim?

Hudson is a sept of the MacDonald clan.
Very little is known about Henry Hudson's childhood or his birth, except that he was born in London. The birthplace of his parents and grandparents is also unknown. All this leads me to believe he was of Scottish descent, so I probably overstated it when I said he was Scottish.
Cheers, ColMac

Glad you had a good time.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
