Potomac Celtic Festival 2009

This was my first attendance at the Potomac Celtic Festival. I hadn’t attended before as it was held on Father’s Day weekend. But Madadh’s thread this week asked who was attending the festival this weekend which made me realize it was the weekend before Fathers Day this year. I made my plans to attend.

Here are the opening ceremonies. I participated with the House of Gordon.

John, ‘SCV40BT’ [right] and I caught up and raided the beer tent. As we went to get something to eat, this fellow came up and said, “I see your dandelions in the crest badge, you must be a XMarker!” Right on, we had found Brian Boru [left] or more correctly he had found us!

We would later find Sir William and Orvice at the re-enactor area. They had meet Madadh earlier who we later found at the vendor tents.

We had our meet up actually two.

This lovely lass wanted our photo, so we were happy to oblige. A passerbyer took her photo with us.

Actually, we notice as we posed a number of lasses were taking our photos!

Later at the Gordon tent, David cooked up John a barbeque and salmon burger for me.

The lovely Gordon lasses entertained us with their hospitality.

Dee showed off her Chuckie Taylor’s. I think Derek would approve.




It was a great day!

It was my first attendance at this festival also. Very nice venue. Beautiful day. It is on my list for next year.

The hospitality at the Gordon tent was top notch. Some of the best Bar-B-Que I have ever had.
