Summer 30 yarder
I was working on my new kilt for loooong time (with a lot of interruptions). But now it's finished, more or less.
Let me warn you it is casual and made out of kilted skirt. I won kilted skirt size UK 20 on Ebay for 7EUR with shipping, took it apart and made summer (lightweight) kilt out of it. So the belt I'm wearing on photos is around 3 1/2 times more expancive.
I got 2.4m material out of skirt, after shorten it and reusing the material in under apron part I ended up with 2.7m (3 yards) of material. Hm, not really much, but... Based on Box pleated kilt appendix to The art of kilt making and with the help of simple EXCEL sheet, that I prepared, where I did some calculations, I proved it can be done. Sure, I did calculations before taking the thing apart, to be safe.
Yesterday I try it for first time, together with new belt and casual soprran like sport waist pouch. I think it looks OK, even being "30 yarder".
I don't like the straps; I'll maybe take then away and use velcro instead. And I need to add the belt loops (not necesarily). I'm thinking also to add a tartan patch on inner part of apron, to give some strength for kilt pin. What do you think?
So hear are the photos. Front first:

Have a nice day!

PS: While taking photos, it stared to rain. That's the reason for not really bright photos, sorry.
