Best keep this hush hush, I'm sure a tall tale like this could stir patriotic feelings not seen North of the Border since the release of Braveheart. When you actually think about it black and white puddings aren't too different to Haggis. Except everybody knows that Haggis is a wee three legged animal that runs around the Highlands backways......!

No accounting for taste...more for me then!

Nothing new under the sun...other theories give the Great Chieftain a French or Norse origin...

Good haggis is brilliant - in fact I had a chance to taste test two different haggi at the Spokane Highland Games yesterday and much to my surprise they were both wonderful! Bad haggis (no, not the band) is absolutely inedible.

I cannot agree more. I can remember in my youth tasting wonderful things at Burn's Nights and have wonderful memories. For the last 20 years or more the taste has been, if not awful, just indifferent. It is saying something when the potatoes have more taste than the haggis.

    Regards

No worries! It was drilled into my head by my British Geography professor, a Yorkshireman by birth.
