    German Heritage in PV

    Hey Guys,

Being of mostly German decent myself, I had to give us Germans a PV choice. We now have the German Heritage tartan IN STOCK in PV. I haven't taken any pictures of it yet, but it's almost a dead match for the wool version.

    PV

    Hey Rocky,

    Great idea!

What would the PV German heritage cost?

Also how different is it in the areas of fit, pleats, swing, wear, look, etc?

I only have 100% wool kilts so I have no clue on the PV?

    Photos would be fantastic.

You've got me very interested as well! If it will be available for women's kilts as well, you'll probably have a good chance of two sales here!

Robert: I'll let others here answer the question of how THEY believe the look and swing of our PV is compared to wool. Many of our customers have both PV and Wool kilts, so I think they're a more 'impartial voice'.

The way I answer that question when customers ask is:

"To the untrained eye, it looks like worsted wool, but to the touch, it feels kind of like a VERY thick cotton. While nothing beats the swing and drape of an expensive wool kilt, PV is the closest we've seen in a 'non wool' fabric."

Catdad: Yes, we'll be able to make a Mini Kilt in this tartan. We don't do women's kilted skirts in PV, only in wool, but we COULD make one in 13 oz wool if you's like.

Prices will be our standard Casual Kilt prices ($99 to $140) and Semi Traditional prices ($220 to $250)

Pictures will be up in a few days, but here's a picture of the tartan in wool:

    PV German

    Rocky,

    Many Thanks for the info.

Catdad thanks for the great idea!

My better half arrived home only to measured up for her mini! The order was just put in by phone and I finally had a chance to talk to Rocky "live" and in 8 weeks we will be in our bloodline tartan! Sweet! : )

Thanks to Rocky for making the whole process smooth and simple.

OK I own an American Heritage in PV and a MacNeil in 16oz hand stitched Wool.

The PV kilt is lighter on the hips. It looks like wool, and most people at the Highland Games think it is wool. It has good "swish". The pleats move well. The feel is more like Cotton than wool when someone touches it for a kilt check.
The "swish" of the wool kilt is a bit more structured, and for many it is more appealing. Both are very comfortable for both formal events and hiking around the Games. Both of these kilts were made to measure for me.

I like the PV kilt for going to modern concerts as it is wash and hang dry. So if some klutz dumps his beer all over it, it does not bother me. A different story if it were to occur to my wool kilt.
I do have some German ancestors.... Another kilt goes on the list..

Already had Mac make up a dozen for the rack... waist sizes 34 - 46. Judging by the avatar, you're closer to the 34" end. I think we have 1 size 34, so be sure to get there early on Friday if you FOR SURE want to buy it off the rack (otherwise, we can always take an order for it).
