Well, so much for that!
I just found out that my second kilt is being put on hold, well, maybe. My 8-year-old son wants a kilt of his own. He wants a McLaren from SWK since they have ties to Scouting. I'm more excited for that than getting another for myself, but I think I will order one to match his.

Revoke my mancard for saying it, but that'd be pretty darned cute.

Just kidding- I agree. It will be cute.

You might try the Thrifty model as it won't set back plans for your next kilt too much. I have one in Irish National which I got for St. Patrick's Day on the theory that if someone puked on it, I wouldn't care. With the velcro closure it's really easy to throw on after work.

He'll really enjoy wearing the MacLaren for his and your Scouting "outings". I've had a SWK for some time now and wear it to all of my unit visits as a Scouting Unit Commissioner.

I want to agree with Mcfarkus: Do the Stillwater thang. For $20, the boy gets a kilt he can truly knock around in, and when he outgrows it in nine months, there's no weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth for either of you. You just replace it.
