Passing of a Hero
I realize that the death of Patrick Swayze will likely get the bulk of the news, but a true Hero to Mankind has passed.
Norman Borlaug.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Isn't that the way it always goes, the true heros always get neglected and forgotten for their true selves!

Heard a lot about him on PBS radio this weekend...so he is getting some due. Imagine more in the future. The way his life was presented he didn't seem to care much for getting any credit - just getting the job done.

Agreed I never understood why people glorify celebrities like all this fuss over Michael Jackson. The world has many really worthwhile people, who deserve our respect and appreciation, yet seldom receive it.
Thank you.

I think this describes Dr. Borlaug.
