w00t! New car!
I didn't know whether to put this in Off-topic or here... Decided to put it here because it's definitely celebration-worthy.
Just bought a new car to replace my old van. Well, new isn't exactly new... But it's new for me. You wanna see it?

It's a 2002 Toyota Prius Hybrid. I am chuffed! Now comes the hard part. Jonesin' for 1 stinking week before I drive down to Aichi Prefecture to pick the car up! Uggghh. It's gonna be a long week. I know what to do while jonesin' for kilt stuff... Any of you jones experts know how to pass the time while jonesin' for your new car? Aiiieeeee!

Wear your kilt while riding your motorcycle? Congrats, nice looking car. Things must be looking up!

They are. I've been avoiding posting any updates on the work situation because things are still up in the air, but it looks like the dust from everything might settle in our favour. I'm very cautious still, however.
As soon as things are a bit more concrete, I'll put up a post outlining what we've been doing the last month -- but at the moment things seem to be stabilizing. Let's just say for now that our newly-formed union branch has won a few minor victories. :-)

I VERY much like Toyota vehicles. I have an old Sequoia. But, I do most appreciate the hybrids. My nephew has a Prius and I got to ride in it as a passenger quite a bit when I was in Memphis last month. I was pleased with the quiet ride, its comfort, and, of course, the gas mileage. Good on you! Enjoy.

I, ah, can kind of relate. My work has always demanded a utility vehicle. All four wheel drive, all have been banged up, muddied up, and all had animals, living and living impaired inside. So if I get excited, this is what gets to me:

OH, YEAH BABY!
Seriously, good luck with the new car.

Lol. Except in this case, being in Japan, the old one gets crushed into a cube. So I suppose I could just drive it recklessly.. Except I want to arrive to pick up the new one alive and uninjured...
Heh. Reminds me of one of the best Simpsons quotes... ever!
"Here are your messages: 'You have thirty minutes to move your car.' 'You have ten minutes to move your car.' 'Your car has been impounded.' 'Your car has been crushed into a cube.' 'You have thirty minutes to move your cube.'" -- Homer Simpson
