ID on a tartan
I eblieve this is simply a fashion tartan but I'm positive it's similar to another tartan.
The best I can some up with is the Freedom tartan. Found here:
any other ideas?
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

A lot of the new ones all run together in my mind; Heritage of Scotland, Pride of Scotland, Scottish National...

It looks like a fashion tartan based on Graham of Menteith.

It's not a fashion tartan. It IS Graham of Mentieth (Modern)

Great!
Thanks so much for your help... I've bought a stunning dress for my girlfriend to wear with this tartan. I'm sure she'll be happy to tell people what tartan is on it!

Very nice tartan. Is it some trick of light that makes it look more purple than blue in the image Paul posted? I could see the dark blue looking a little purple, but that looks really purple compared to other images of Graham of Mentieth?

It's my JOB to be good at this.
The difference in colors is the difference in what each MILL uses for their colors... some mills use a PURPLISH Navy blue while others use a BLUE Navy Blue.
In THIS case, you also have to factor in that the mill weaving the material made it for a women's dress and probably chose a more purplish shade of 'navy' and a more 'olive' shade of green for aesthetics, not necessarily for accuracy of the tartan.

Yes, it does look purple, olive, and turquoise. Which is why I said based on Graham of Menteith. I think they were just using the same sett with different colours entirely. So, yes, it is the same tartan, but at the same time not. There is a registered colour variation of Graham of Menteith with red replacing the green but that's about it. A good example is Purple Watch. Purple Watch is a fashion variant of Black Watch but no one really considers it Black Watch.

Here is my Graham of Mentieth woven by Lochcarron and sewn up by Hector Russell it does look different than some of the swatches shown here I thought I'd include it as an example of the difference between mills.
