What luck!
I was browsing the limited selection in the men's department at our local Wal~Mart this evening while waiting for my wife to pick up those essentials that we must have (namely Pullups for our daughters) when I happened upon quite an iteresting find. Hanging amongst the unusually large selection of ties, I spotted what looked to me to be a Black Watch tartan tie. Upon closer inspection I learned it was even labeled "watch plaid black". Well, I just had to have it, so my wife graciously purchased it for me. Here are some pics. Maybe I will wear it with my kilt next time I am out and can get better pics!

The tag I mentioned.

A photo of the tie-sorry, the lighting in my home isn't very good for photos!

Nice tie, but it's not Black Watch.

Actually, the green, blue and black are all there and in the right order. The tie is quite dark and did not photograph well because of the lighting in my home. The texture is such that makes it look like a woven tartan (similar to the shadow tartan kilts from SWK, but in color) I don't mean to argue, but the photo really does not show the colors or the weave accurately.

Yeah, on second look I can see that the pattern is right. I guess the colors threw me off!

Some days it pays to be more lucky than good.

I'll second that statement... black watch has an ABAC sett where in every OTHER navy section, there's 2 (close together) black lines down the center of the Navy. In alternating sections, there are 2 sets of 2 black lines around the OUTSIDE of the navy section:

To me, it's a 'bumbee' tartan BASED on black watch.

I check out the LLBean catalogue every time to see if they'll Ever repeat my tartan in a flannel shirt again (they only ran one year).
Another time I found a pair of pajamas in my tartan at JCPennys; not labeled or anything. I must of went to a dozen others stores looking for another pair but never saw one.

Now that is a difference I did not catch! I bet few catch it when I wear it either.

Target has REAL black watch tartan silk ties, and Cameron regimental ties.
Bought both for about $19 a piece.
