    Robert Rines saw Nessie

The Rabble may be interested that a man who really influenced our world, from Broadway musicals to finding the Titanic has passed away. He was a brilliant inventor, lawyer, composer, human being and HE SAW THE LOCH NESS MONSTER! Check out this article in The Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obit...ert-Rines.html

I was honored to have met him on a number of occasions. He started my law school with a few others, (mostly from MIT), and he hosted us a dinner and came to our graduations.

He had a passion for finding the Loch Ness Monster and applied himself to hunting in his spare time. Coincidentally he found a Wellington bomber in the Loch while hunting Nessie. I was delighted to find him on public television one night and I was amazed at what he was doing - IN SCOTLAND! He led a long and amazing life. He is an inspiration to us.

I recall a cover story in an edition of my father's (class of '58) Technology Today when I was a kid that featured the search for Nessie. Do you suppose that was his story?

The passing of influential people always has a way of making us think about all the ways we are shaped by the people who touch our lives.

    Regards,
    Rex.

Interesting that he and Einstein both did such amazing developments in physics while working as patent examiners. Is there something to that job?

I remember the Wellington bomber being brought to shore, but so far, Nessie has eluded me!
