Black light reactive kilt - Anyone done this?
The Lady and I were having one of those wandering discussions when she mentioned that the local mall put in a "Black Light Mini-Golf Course."
For some reason, I had a sudden image of wearing a kilt where only one of the narrower stripes reacted to black light and I would be there, golfing away looking like some 3D generated model.
Not that I really have the resources to pursue such a thing -- but it made me wonder if someone else has done it.
Maybe pick up a low-cost kilt some where and hand stitch in a few lines of something .... Hmmmm....

I have found that the white stripes on my PV kilts will react to black light. I don't know if this is "normal" or because they've been washed with detergent with "brighteners" etc...

Black light tends to react best with white of any stripe. The more "blue" in the white the brighter the appearance. When exposed to black light, the colour scheme can produce some very different results.
Under the black light at a local shopping mall in an otherwise dark space, my MacNeil wool tank on ancient colours appears as mostly white with some design, but not plaid. I was wearing a white fitted Polo shirt and oatmeal hose. The hose turned an off white and the top was ...white. A picture taken of it looked like I was wearing white fishnet stockings and a white patterned knee length gathered dress, with a wide belt. The young lass that I was escorting as a favour to her father on a shopping trip, enjoyed the whole thing immensely. She had her friend that snapped the picture forward it to her mobile so that she could show it off later. Her father chuckled a little, and then pointed out that she looked very...expecting..in the photo. The three of us got a lot of laughs out of it. She would not forward the photo to me. Since it was a dress shopping trip, and for her to get some gifts for her family for an upcoming holiday, I reminded her of being careful of what she wears to some of these "lighted" events.
Not to run out of mileage, she used the picture to show her boyfriend the "gal" that takes her shopping. He told her that he liked the look. ![Twisted Evil](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif)
I somehow meet a lot of very young lasses at this mall now.

There is a company called "Fun World" that sells Halloween stuff. They carry a product they call "Black Light Hairspray". It will make your hair glow bright blue under UV or Black Lights . It is almost clear and water soluble.
You could spray it on your kilt before going to a party and cause quite the reaction.
I looked into sewing "light wire" into a Kilt. This is florescent thin plastic tubing that lights up with a battery pack. You can sew it onto clothing in designs that light up like neon. It is real popular at high end dance clubs and Burning Man.
But after calculating the cost of a length of light wire for each pleat of a kilt I quickly gave up the idea. It would have been magnificent if I had $2000.00 just laying around.

Never seen it, but you could try dying a cheap kilt in luminol. That should lighten you up a bit, looking like a lightbulb.
