Special SNOW sale!!!
Hi, gang! As many of you know, we are experiencing some winter weather here in the mountains of western North Carolina. It started snowing yesterday afternoon, and incredibly it only took a few minutes to go from "oh, hey, a few flakes," to seriously dangerous driving conditions.
I had to close up the museum early on Friday, around 3pm, when the snow started to accumulate on the roads. It only took me about 10 minuntes to shut everything down and lock up, but in that short time it had gotten so bad that the fire deparment had put up a road block on the highway out of town, and were only letting 4WD vehicles proceed. Thankfully I drive a Subaru so I was ok to get home.
In any case, we were also closed all day today as we continued to get hit with snow and freezing rain.
Snow days are fun for playing in the yard, but bad for a business when you have to keep the doors closed. Our regular operating budget for the museum comes directly from gift shop sales, and when those sales take a hit, we can feel it almost instantly.
Thankfully, we also do a lot of our gift shop business on line, and the internet is working for us 24/7, snow or no snow. And in order to help out those on line sales a bit during this winter season, I'm offering for a limited time only a special SNOW SALE!
I will be monitoring the gift shop sales coming in over the next two days. And between now (approximately 7:45pm Saturday) through to 5pm on Monday (Eastern Time), on any purchase made on line through our gift shop, if you type in the word "SNOW" in the "optional instructions" section of your order, I will apply the following rebate:
On any order over $25 -- $5 off!
On any order over $50 -- $10 off!
On any order over $100 -- $20 off!
On any order over $200 -- $35 off!
On any order over $400 -- $50 off!
This offer applies on anything purchased over our gift shop pages, whether it is in stock, or custom made, special order, one thing, many things, red things, blue things, old things, new things. Any item in our gift shop catalogs. Kilts, sporrans, hose, tshirts, ties, books, you name it.
This is a rebate, not a discount. You won't see the deduction from your order. You will get the rebate in the form of a PayPal refund for the applicable amount, which I will personally put through on Monday for any order that has "SNOW" in the optional instructions.
I'm only putting this offer up here on X Marks. You guys have been great supporting our museum with your purchases in the past, and I look forward to all of your continued support in the future. Thanks!

Bonnet ordered!
I've been lusting for a Ferguson Britt bonnet for quite a while. No more! Makes all the hassles with this snow worth while.

Do two pairs of traditional garter-ties really cost $25.00 to send to Canada? If so, will the cost of shipping count toward the rebate thresholds?
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.

Okay Matt - Need some help here...ordered up six Traditional garter ties but in the Pay Pal process they never gave me a chance to put in the word SNOW - at least that I saw...never got the place to write in comments that I'm used to when ordering with Pay Pal. So - trust you'll honor your SNOW deal on my order...???
And, Jeez Louise, $18.50 for shipping six garter ties seems a bit excessive? There goes my rebate thingie right there? Seems they'd be light enough to go USPS to my POB for a few bucks.

I almost missed the link for the special instructions too. The box doesn't automatically appear on the PayPal payment page, you need to look for a small link that says something about adding special instructions to get it to show up.

I'll be basing the rebate amount off of the TOTAL for the order, which includes all items plus shipping cost, so yes, it does count towards the rebate.
