My welcome to bizaro land
So yesterday I got my old out-of-shape butt out to the park for some practice before my first games of the year come up next week. Usually my stones, WFD and Hammer are all adequate, but I fall off in the sheaf. Sheaf hate me.
During practice yesterday, my WFD form was like unfolding a busted lawn chair. Nothing worked--I was all over the box. Because of my jacked up knee, spins are still difficult so I use a bit of a modified single spin. It was craaaaaaaaaap.
Then I get out my brand new sheaf and my new fork. Tines aren't even sanded or sprayed with silicone yet. I start hurling the thing and normally I tend to release late and throw the thing on an odd angle over my left shoulder, which I try to compensate for by standing at an opposite angle (think turning a bit left to make up for a bad slice in golf). But nope--that's gone. I throw the thing up and over on a straight arc--and what's even more odd--I clear 20 feet 4 times! My PR last year was 18 with the slice.
Is this a new year of bizzare things happening--or am I just rusty as heck?
Next week is gonna be interesting for sure!

Just imagine what a little bit of WD-40 will do....
.......on the fork tines, not your knee.
