Made my own sporren hangers.

Most of the stuff was bought at Joanne's Fabric. And the chain and chain holder was bought at home depot. over all cost around 20 dollars. Here's the basic break down:
Pocket book straps (black with silver D hooks) : $8
Celtic Knot buttons : 2 for $2.50
Kit of Snap buttons : $6
1 Ft. of chain from HD : 85¢
U holders from HD : $ 4
I did some sewing on it just to strengthen it but isn't needed for the look. I hand sewed the celtic knots on. Everything was real easy to do and took me about and hour.

Well done. I'm always one to admire creativity and do it yourselfers.
And black is definitely the look for that tartan. Keep it up.

Very nice work. The little celtic knot buttons give it a very personal touch not seen on commercial ones.

@ westy1970, I was going to go leather but the canvas is a lot easier to work with. I don't even know if i could have got the knots on the leather. Plus the only leather I found at the stores (Joanne's and Michel's) was a soft leather not really what I was thinking. I still think about making a leather pair if I can find the right stuff for the job.
@ Kiltboy, thanks for the kind words.
@ ctbuchanan, Yeah black is the only way to really go with this color scheme, I might make another color one once I pick up a second kilt.
@ artificer, Yes the knots are what really made me want to do this project, I have seen some pre-made hangers go for cheaper than the cost of making this but all very plan. The knots go with my belt very well as well, so it's just a nice touch to add to my outfit.

I would think leather purse straps if you could find the right ones. Also, an old dress belt? Just thinkin' out loud.

While browsing in the Knifeworks store near Sevierville TN, I found a belt hanger being sold to clip a knife on. I bought 2 and used them as sporran hangers. Nothing fancy, low cost and they worked for me.
