    Kilt Stress Points

i'm currently making a denim xkilt, i've aquired some jeans style buttons and copper rivets but am unsure of where the stress points on a kilt would be that might be helped by the riveting, i don't really see the point in adding something that won't serve a purpose but at the same time don't really want to waste what i have, any help would be greatly appriciated

Personally, the stress points that I have seen/encountered is at the hips, where the "traditional" three straps are. Seeing as how it is a denim kilt, I would think this is where you would want the "rivets", replacing the straps.

I would say examine a pair of jeans to see where the rivets are placed. Usually they are at places where bar tacking just wont cut it from weight stress. Typically jeans are only riveted at the pockets, and after gold mining took a dive they quite riveting the back pockets due to burning the rump. Now rivets are more of a tradition and used for fashion. On the Utilikit they only rivet the pockets(back and side on workman, and back side and front on survival)
