Beautiful day!
Today was just gorgeous. Cool, but not cold (at least once the sun finished rising)... sunny, clear... just gorgeous. I ran a half-marathon this morning, but it was so nice that I couldn't just rest after finishing so went for a long walk. People were extremely vocal today...
I got 4 honks, an "Erin Go Bragh", three "nice skirts", a "nice dress", a "nice hat", and a "nice shoes". Oh and a couple "are you Scottish?" and asked for three reasons I was wearing the kilt (answered: comfortable, heritage, and they're just cool).
Who else enjoyed a beautiful day kilted today?

Well I certainly did. Took the dog for a nice long hike this morning. It was 31F when we left, so I pulled out my wool hiking kilt.
Met three couples enjoying the scenery at the top of the ridge (breathtaking view west toward Mount Pisgah). As I walked by one of the women said "Thank you!"
This evening went to the ordination (PCUSA) service for a friend. Wore my IOS kilt and black Argyle conversion jacket. Got lots of compliments and another "Aren't your knees cold?" from an elderly woman. The cold knees question seems to be the one I get most from women in the 70+ age group, and I've always wondered why.

Love the cold knees question People greatly underestimate the power of wool!

I went for a 4-1/2 mile hike through the hills, with my wife following behind on her horse. I was wearing my Utilikilt. It was starting to get a little warm, but every time I would top a rise in the hills, I'd get a nice breeze up my legs. Ah, kilted freedom!

I went to Tandy Leather to pick up some supplies, and then I plan to clean out my car and harvest my onions and carrots. So I think I'll probably do most of that NOT kilted... But I did have a good time kilted at the leather shop. There's a guy there who totally freaks every time I go. He seems to think that I put together the greatest outfits ever! I wore my digicam Flamingo Kilt and a Colorado Avalanche jersey today, along with a Rob Roy sporran that I made a couple weeks ago.
