MacDonald of Kingsburgh - Original vs Old & Rare

On the library thread I raised the issue of D. W. Stewart's error in his Old & Rare. Here are some thoughts on the MacDonald of Kingsburgh by way of example - http://www.scottishtartans.co.uk/Mac...Kingsburgh.pdf

These make for such fascinating reading. Thank you again, Peter, for publishing them.

The fragment is very reminiscent of the St David's Welsh tartan!

But this one very definitely is older.

Thanks for that great link. I went with the "wrong" Macdonald of Kingsburgh since it was what's available to me. My ancestry goes back to Uig, Skye just up the road from Kingsburgh. Its the kilt in my avatar.

Spell checker wasn't working. Found some errors - sorted.
