Tartan wish list for new kilts

So every year I make a list of the tartans I want to make myself new kilts for the year. This year was great-Auld Scotland, Lord of the Isles Hunting, IoS PV pleated Kigussie style, MAcDonald of Glenadale (Actually bought from B&S).

So this year I've decide already on Royal Stewart Ancient - I saw a woman at a kids soccer game with a stole in this tartan. At first I thought it must have been washed out, but as I was drawn to this popular tartan's different color schemes , I was hooked - Here's a link to a scarf thats pretty dead on- http://www.hanworthhouse.co.uk/images/large/469.jpg - HoE carries it and it will be my next kilt! The next is Bruce of Kinnaird Ancient. I saw Hami's pics of his and it was amazing!!! Gotta have it. And third is Stewart Old Colors Weathered. I have always loved this tartan, and after seeing it in person at the Pleasenton Games, I decided that was gonna be next. I'm going Stewart this year it seems! So I'm vacant 1 tartan. I'll be getting the custom MacDonald that XMAN did with Gabe, but I want one more thrilling tartan to keep kiltin' through 2011. I'm thinking MacMillan Old Sett Ancient

I'm open to any suggestions-But its gotta be really catching. BTW-I'm one of those that has no problem wearing any clan's tartan, so no holds bar. Got any ideas?

    Cummings perhaps

I have been thinking about a green dominant tartan recently and really like the Cummings Hunting Muted shown here on Alan Cummings at the Dressed to Kilt event. It's photo number 6 in the photo book at the top of the page.

Not sure I'd buy the whole outfit, but I definitely like the tartan!

Do you have a color or tone your favoring?

    We have a shared desire...

I am wanting a Royal Stewart as well...ever since I saw that picture of Prince Phillip's closet. I had never really been a fan until I saw it hanging there. I currently have three kilts...all are green based! The next one definitely needs to be something different. Red, tan, black...something other than green and blue.

As far as your quandry...don't know that I can help. I really liked the Cameron of Erracht kilt that Barb was working on...but don't think that will be on my list right away.

    Mull Millenium Tartan

    JOSH:
I believe it was Barb Tewksbury who put pics up of the Mull Millenium Tartan and it was awesome. The pics make a huge difference from the STA swatch.
It is on my "when I win the lottery" list. :-)

Go with the MacMillan (you're a Brown, right?)! But be warned- this particular tartan's shades very greatly between the different mills. Make sure you see swatches of the different options before you make your decision...

The MacDonald of Clanranald tartan in WOB colours is quite nice.

I had never seen Royal Stewart ancient before I confess I like it better than modern even though I am not usually a fan of red based ancient setts.

    Josh,

If you like something in the blue range, I saw Hannay at a highland games and it was very nice.

Also the Antarctic tartan. Barb Tewksbury did one for her daughter.

    Best wishes,

    Tom

A point of clarification. The STA examples are graphics and not swatches and as a result will A) never look the same as cloth and b) appear differently of different screens.

As with anything that's C18th or early C19th, the Royal Stewart and Pr Ch Ed both look so much better in WOB's shades.
