I am sad to say, that even as a federal Officer, my Father and Mother were duped into a scam... They lost $3000.00 to these criminals, the money crossing state lines, constituting a federal felony. I want the reader to be aware that as we grow older and the kids branch out, and have their own kids, people will play on the emotions of people of an elderly age. The story starts with a little boy calling his grandfather and asking him to help (crying) he is in trouble with the police while attending a friends funeral. The scam is very elaborate and believable according to my father. The young man doesn't want grampa to call dad, but asks for help to bail him out of jail by wiring money to a bondsman. They have players that portray Police Officers, Lawyers and even the bondsman himself... There are a number of people involved, so the more elaborate it becomes. And the plot is well rehearst, leading the unsuspecting people involved to believe that if the money doesn't arrive in time, that their loved one will remain in jail for quiet a while. They use disposable cell phones, and act very official. They even offer a phone number to a lawyer, that can and will guarantee the release of the loved one that night, for the right price. Now I don't know if this is the right place to post this kind of thing, but, I would like everyone within this community to learn about this scam, so that the criminals like this can't make a dime. My Father is the patriarch of the family, a Korean war, and Vietnam war veteran, and a retired proffessor. A very intelligent, caring man, that ran to his grandson's rescue. Please be very aware of these criminals, and their type of extortion... Daniel
