Talking Auld Scotland double box pleated kilt by Gabriel Everson

I knew it was coming in today. The mail lady usually comes around 12:30 to 12:45. She always knocks if I get a package because it's either a performance part for my car something for my bagpipes or .... KILT STUFF!!!! She likes to see my face when I get it I guess. So as I was making myself a expresso. I heard my mail box open then close. I stood there waiting for the knock..... Nothing..... My tingly feeling went away and I opened the door she was walking down the street! And my package was not there!! I grabbed my mail.. News paper, bill, bill, game from gamefly, ooh nice my long awaited first paycheck (I've been laid off since June 2010) it's about 13 degrees fahrenheit here and I was in sweatpants and a t-shirt. I didn't even feel cold! Just a strong feeling of *** where is my Kilt!!!! Tracking said I was going to get it Saturday!! Nothing!! Then it changed to today!! And again NOTHING?!?!? I threw the mail down and stomped into my living room and plopped onto my couch. Then a knock at the door... *sigh* great it's my wife's family here to tell me I did something else wrong (common thing for them). I huff and puff as I stomp to the door and rip it open. Aaaaahh it's the mail lady!!!!! She said hi Matt I have a package for you it seems heavy but it doesn't knock around?!? I felt like Austin Powers after being unfrozen as I had no control of the volume of my voice. "IT'S MY NEW KILT!!!!!!! Aaaaaaahhhh"
SLAM! I shut the door right in her face . I realized what I did and yelled SORRY!!Oh man I have to grab my camera! After 3 seconds of looking I said forget it! And grabbed my crusty old iPhone.

Hands shaking I tore the tab off and there she was peaking out at me.

Oh gosh I feel weak!! No I feel....I don't know how I feel I feel more happy that when I saw my first kilt!! After all my first was a kilt for my pipe band and although i like the tartan I didn't choose it.
THIS! This was my favorite tartan!!! I slid it out like someone pulling out the sword from the stone.
Oh it's stunning! And look at how much extra cloth I have! I'm going to make a tie and some flashes and still have enough left over for a waistcoat or a flat cap.

It's made beautifully. I have to strain to see stitching it's looks insane!!! Oh I can't wait!! I have to get the basting stitches out and get this thing ON!!

Here is a shot of the double box pleats

Ok so I throw it on.. oh man this feels nice not as rump heavy at my knife pleated kilt but man this just feel awesome! I asked for brown leather straps and was warned that they usually look black. They do but they also have a brown quality to them. It is a dark chocolate brown. Excuse the fact that I don't have flashes/garters or my brown shoes yet.

An absolutely beautiful looking kilt and I very much like the cable knit hose as well. Could you tell me if the colours of the Auld Scotland are classed as ancient or muted ones?

I didn't even notice the hose! I have a pair in the process of being knit for me, and never even thought about it! Those are nice!

Very nice looking kilt. I really like the colours. The double box pleat is a style that I've not worn yet, but it certainly does look good!

    That's a real beauty, Congratulations!
The Auld Scotland tartan is one I keep coming back to. It's such an attractive design, and it looks fabulous in a box pleat.

I don't know what the colors are classified as I don't think I would say ancient as the ancient kilts I have seen the colors don't seem as rich as this tartan. I pulled this tartan up on the Scotweb site tartan maker it said that the colors are pro colors and not weaver colors. I don't know if that helps. Also these hose are from USA kilts it's the hand knit Aran wool hose. I saw them on Rocky when I was in his shop and just had to have them.
