    Fraser and Kirkbright remnants....none

Fraser and Kirkbright hasn't had any remnants up on their website in months and months.

Are they doing OK? I certainly hope so. Is there some reason they're not doing remnants any more?

I was in Vancouver, just last week for a meeting, and stopped by F& K , afterwards, to buy a meter of lightweight RCAF tartan from Gordon. He didn't mention there being anything amiss & the stock pile seemed normal. Didn't think to ask why no remnants ( which I've noticed too)- maybe a good sign, for F&K? ( and possibly for me too, as I too often get tempted by the kilting weight remnants - so much so that gordon told me i have a serious problem )

I drive by there most days and things seem ok. I did get a few meters of 16oz material from Gordon in November. They did not have it posted because it was only 4 meters in total. Gordon did mention to keep checking the page. Fingers crossed that we will soon see some material posted.

Several pages of remnants on scotweb, just FYI.

I think this is page 12:

The remnant I ordered from them shipped after 11 days, arrived Royal Mail about two to three weeks later.

    F&K remnants now available

F&K has some remnants posted as of Tuesday. I ran over and picked up some very nice 16oz MacDonald of the Isle. There should be another 26 meters available as of this morning. Other tartans and weights are also available.

A link to F&K remnants for those interested: http://www.wooltartan.com/tartans5.htm

Off topic question, since some of these are 11 oz. Is 11 oz. suitable for an 8-yard kilt?

I think you would find the 11oz to be too light. I have used the 14oz from F&K for an eight-yard kilt and it worked out. I am very pleased with the 16oz MacDonald I just picked up. Very nice colours and I do love the Marino wool.

thanks a lot , Bruce! I just-by-chance saw your post, and immediately emailed Gordon, asking that he save me 5 meters!! ( now he REALLY knows that I "have a serious problem"!)
