Finished My First Kilt!
Today I celebrated my birthday and I celebrated the completion of Mark's kilt! What a feeling of accomplishment! And Mark is thrilled! I posted some pictures in the gallery.
I want to thank all XMarkers who have been so supportive of my efforts to make a Kilt for Mark to wear to his Senior Prom. I especially want to thank Forrester Modern who generously provided Mark with a wonderful pair of Ghillie Brogues that fit him so nicely. I was worried about not finishing the knitted kilt hose in time, so when I found a pair of diced hose on eBay, I jumped at the chance to get them for him. I will finish the hose I was knitting after the Prom is over.
Mark is continuing to work on the 4 Prom Dresses for his dates and they are nearing completion. I am still working on finishing the Prince Charlie jacket, but plan to have it done in time.
Since my last post, Mark has started an internship at a florist shop and he is doing great. The owner has inquired about hiring him after the end of the internship. This is so fantastic because it is walking distance from the floral shop to the community college he will be attending next fall and both are on the bus route.
Thanks again for your support!!

Happy Birthday and Well Done. A really good looking kilt. And, of course, now that you know how to do it, you should keep these skills honed - and start the next kilt!
Regards

Hard to believe that's the first kilt you've made. It looks great and so does Mark!
