Rev-k & x-kilt help please
I'm working on my second xkilt, revk style and I'm struggling on the best way to add pockets on them.
I'm interested in doing two under apron pockets and cargo pockets on both, and I'm looking for advice, help ect
Since I'm not trying to do anything to interfere with the swish, I wanted to ask you guys, since obviously I'm new to this stuff,

The X Kilt instructions come with basic instructions on making cargo pockets. For the under apron pocket, I would just say to make the top on an angle, instead of parallel to the waistband. Think about how you're going to get your hand in there.

Well I tried to follow the instructions for the cargo, but it seemed insanely floppy, especially the top, so any advice?

Yes. Design a pocket that you like, make it, and put it on your kilt.
I am dead serious. I did it, you can do it.

I sew cargo pockets onto the kilt with the top edge about 3 inches above the fell (that's from memory and is not a hard-and-fast placement, just a starting point for you to consider). I attach them by opening the top flap and sewing through the very bottom edge of top flap, where it attaches to body of pocket, all the way across, through all layers of the kilt. Takes a zipper foot (so your pressure foot is not at an angle) and a strong machine to get through all those layers! The sides and bottom of pocket just hang free.
There are some pics on my website that might help you visualize this method.
Scroll down to pocket pics. See the photo with pen and cell phone? Stitching line is parallel with top of cell phone, just above finished top edge of pocket, so that only the top flap is held to kilt.

Thanks, should I do multiple layers or something to avoid the floppiness ?
