    The land of Bountiful

Temperatures continue to rise here in the western United States and Utah is no exception. With Highs expected to reach 97 today, I struck out early to finish a project I started this spring. I wanted to hike all of The Bonneville shore line trail in my County here in Northern Utah. 10,000 years ago lake Bonneville lapped against the Wasatch mountains creating a narrow shoreline. Today it is a perfect multi use Hiking and biking trail covering hundreds of miles in Northern Utah. At almost exactly 5280 feet above sea level and around a thousand feet above the valley floor you have a constant view of the cities below and the lonely remnant of the once massive Bonneville lake we now know as the Great Salt Lake. My hike this morning covered eight miles from the community of Bountiful to the town of Farmington.
I usually try to find another hiker to take some pictures of me. I guess it was the forecasted highs in the ninety’s that caused me to be all alone in this beautiful place today so I an including a previous picture of myself in my favorite, Sport Kilt Ultimate, MacLaren

Matty, it looks like you hiked within about a half a mile of my place (up on the hillside in Centerville). I take my kids up that way from time to time - they like to look down and see how small the cars and buildings are from way up there.

Wonderful pictures of a familiar place - I ought to get it in gear and go hiking more often; though with temperatures this high, the AC is so much more inviting...
