Finally got rain after 306 days
We've been expieriancing a sever drought here in West Texas and this afternoon about 5 it started to rain and we got about half an inch which was the first measurable rain that we have recieved here in Odessa in the last 306days which included 66 noncosecutive days of 100 plus temps since april. Hopefully we will get some rain from the remnants of tropical storm Dan after it hits land.

Glad for you all, hope there is much more on the way.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Here in San Antonio, we are thankfully not quite that bad, but we had a good 8 or so months without rain. And the little rain we got a few weeks back was not much. Honestly, I can't wait for the tropical storm.

It's been real bad out here,it's gotten to the point of water restrictions, a few of the lakes out here are now just mud pits we have also had the damage from several major grass fires the biggest one being the rockhouse fire near Fort Davis that burned for 2 weeks back in April and burned close to 300,000 acres, the last grass fire we had here in Ector and Midland county burn 25,000 acres in 2 days. But this little bit of rain helped the problem is we flooded real bad because the groun is so dry the water just ran off.

I remember hearing about all of that. I think we got to stage two of the drought restrictions, but no where near what you guys were. I am glad you finally got the well needed rain.

We got a few showers here to the east of you as well. Had no significant rainfall since January. We could use a few more of the TS The boys and I went outside and walked around in it for awhile till it stopped. Guess it will not be in the 100's today
