Jacobite period sporran!

A while back, Figheadaire posted a couple pictures of a Jacobite period sporran. I decided to make a sporran based on the one he posted, and I finished it earlier tonight. What do you all think?

There were no pictures of the back, so I had to make that up as I went!

I love edge braiding. This wasn't on the original, but I love the way it looks, so I went with it! Wanted to make it my own...

And a side-by-side of the original and mine!

Great stuff Nighthawk. The colour is not my cup of tea, but that braidwork is fantastic and I think you have got the overall look of the jacobite sporran down pat.

It's the natural color of the elk hide that I had. And really, I love it. I figure the original was most likely very similar in color before it aged, anyway. Maybe a bit lighter, but probably fairly close. Thanks for the observation on the braid work. I usually use goat hide, so doing it with elk was interesting! Elk is a lot thicker, and it stretches!
