    Most Physically Painful Kilt Experience?

What is the most painful thing that has happened to you while you were wearing a kilt?

I guess mine is when, a few years back, I was gardening in a canvas kilt and attacked by fire ants. I was also wearing sandals. Our fire ants aren't as bad as the imported, fire ants like in Texas, but they do attack in mass. The up side was they were easier to brush off my legs all at one time in a kilt than if I had been wearing trousers or shorts. It's a yearly event, and that is what reminded me of the episode.

    So... tell me your pain.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Putting on a kilt that I knew was really too tight - It will ease with a little wearing, I lied to myself.

Having an uncomfortable 2 hour drive to our destination.

Being so relieved that I could get out of the car and Stand Up for a while.

Being bound up so tightly that I could not eat or drink even though it was a warm day and I knew i should be taking on liquids.

Having to stand for six hours, because I could not sit down.

Driving home while feeling faint from thirst or hunger, but mainly pain.

Taking off the kilt and almost fainting as the feeling returns to legs and feet and nether regions.

The sudden onset of raging hunger and thirst.

The eating and drinking too much and feeling bloated for the rest of the evening.

Getting up many times during the night to get rid of the excess of liquid that I drank earlier and walking into the same hall table three times.

Having brother-in-law call next day and say that it was so much fun, we should do it again every month!

The final pain was working out how much a new kilt was going to cost and how to get it before next month.

    Regards

    Chas

I fell down a flight of stairs kilted, but that wasn't really related to the kilt...

I think Riverkilt has a pretty solid story about a kilt-related injury...

It counts because you were wearing a kilt.

I'm sure Riverkilt has other stories.

I just checked and the mark is still there.

I knelt down and got the tip of a kilt pin stuck into my knee - it only went in a little way but it went in just alongside the kneecap, into a tendon I think. My mother had fastened the pin right at the hemline and horizontally, so it was an accident waiting to happen.

That was about 54 years ago. It was painful for a very long time.

Having to pay for anew jacket to go with it because I'd outgrown the original.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Well, the fried huevos was a brief hot contact....

Last winter I slipped on the ice over at Zion and went down hard on my bare knees getting road rash, blood, and pain. At least I had on a red kilt and red kilt hose to cover the blood.

Up in Ouray last summer a horse turned out from me as I was mounting it kilted and I fell on my kilted butt on the hard rock ground and kept falling backward until the back of my head thumped the rocks hard too.

So much for efforts to age gracefully......

I have three cats with all their claws. My brother brought his yappy little dog over to the house, and in an effort to escape, all three decided to climb me, starting at my legs. They clawed their way up my body, Midnight taking the kilt with him.
