A Wee bit of Photos from Our British Columbia Trip - August 2011
Greetings!
Much to our chagrin, our wonderful trip up to the beautiful Pacific northwest has come to a close. My lovely wife, Stephanie, my mother-in-law, Beverly Robertson, and I first traveled up from our home of Cincinnati, OH to Seattle, WA, then further north to Vancouver and Victoria, BC, for a last minute summer getaway - a much welcomed "getaway" from the midwestern heat and humidity!
We had a superb time, and being in British Columbia (my third time there), I naturally wore Highland dress for a couple of days out of our week long trip. The photos below were taken in a variety of places to include: Vancouver, Grandville Island, Victoria, Surrey, and I believe one was taken on a BC ferry when we departed from Tsawwassen for Swartz Bay, Vancouver Island, en route to Victoria.
Unfortunately, we were unable to schedule a meet and greet with our very own forum owner, Steve Ashton, in Victoria, but rest assured Steve, Stephanie and I shall return, and the next time our focus shall be almost entirely on Victoria and the greater Vancouver Island region...so beautiful! Many thanks to those Xmarks members who live in British Columbia, and offered kind hospitality - our trip was rather brief, "off-the-cuff," and very spontaneous. Next time, we shall be sure to coordinate appropriately well in advance!
Enjoy the photos...
Delicious fish n' chips (no peas though) at fisherman's wharf, Victoria.

Lovely pictures Kyle. Shame you couldn't make the meet-up with "our" Steve. I'm sure that would have been a blast but as you say, there will be a next time. Cheers for posting those.

Thanks John, glad you enjoyed them - there are indeed many more. I know - I really wanted to arrange a meet up with Steve, but unfortunately, it never materialised as I had to be very accomodating to my lovely wife and especially to my mother-in-law - there is indeed a long story behind all of this, but I shall spare you the details my friend!![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Great pics Kyle. I sense a pair of those yellow hose and that tie in my future wardrobe. I know where to get the hose. Where did the tie come from? It's a perfect compliment to my US Army Tartan kilt...though they are so close that I think I'd only wear them together if I had a waistcoat to separate the two. If I were wearing a tie with just a jacket and shirt, I think I'd go for a solid wool or silk instead....but I'm rambling now. Long and short of it is that I'd like one just like yours...where did you get it?

Fabulous pics, all those photos of Victoria make me really wish I could be back there right now, oh for the blue skies of Canada, here it has rained almost non stop for the past three days, haven't seen a patch of blue sky or sunshine since Tuesday.

Funny ol' thing, that's what I thought when I saw it. It's a dead ringer for US Army tartan, and quite close to Johnstone Modern too.
Oooops! That'll be Kyle never wearing that tie again being a former Marine and staunch MacPherson Sorry mate!

It seems you got to see the capital well at least. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip.
Had I noticed your earlier thread in time I'd have PM'd you to meet. Next time perhaps.

Kyle, I'm glad your wife and MIL had a good time in our neck of the woods. It's great to see your pictures. I can understand it's tough to try and fit everything in when you've only got so much time. We'll see you next time!
