Considering a mask sporran
Has anyone tried using a rugshell form (i.e., http://www.vandykestaxidermy.com/Skunk-C2470.aspx) for the head of their sporran? I've not seen one in person, so I can't determine if the profile relief would cause the head to be too pronounced. Would the form add too much weight?
Thanks!

There's a chap local to me who has masks mounted using this type of form.
Personally I feel that they're too "round" for a well proportioned sporran, but that's just me. Some people really like the "lifelike" look, I much prefer a lower relief head, usually sculpted of paper mache or Sculptamold.

A little sculpting can be okay, but I am reminded of a recent post - http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...tml#post995013
This shows a couple with a little shaping, and one that's practically a wall mount.
