Re: kilt repair
Not sure about a kilt maker in Phoenix, but a reputable alteration shop should be able to put a new buckle on for you. The challenge, where ever you go, may be matching the replacement buckle to the remaining one(s). Though would likely only matter if it was one of a pair on the right side for instance, where visual comparison could be made. .
I believe we have some members in the Phoenix area who may have some more area specific input.
Best of luck, and by the way, Welcome Aboard from Roseville California!

Re: kilt repair
Thanks Mac,
I figured a seamstress could do it. I always wear whatever shirt i am wearing out anyway so it covers the buckles up. Used to tuck my shirt in all the time but nowadays no one does and i kind of like it that way.
Ordered my kilt a little shorter than most for the warm temps of phoenix. If i like this one i will order an even shorter one for next summers heat.

Re: kilt repair
Sounds like the gdingus that is part of the buckle and usually a heavy wire like coat hanger wire broke off and I would, before trying to get an expensive repair, would get a coat hanger, pliers and a file; try to fabricate something. Or maybe I haven't a clue what your predicament is. Good luck.

Re: kilt repair
Be it an "inexpensive" kilt or a hand sewn "tank?" You might see if you can contact that pipe band down in Mesa and ask them who repairs their kilts.

Re: kilt repair
Here are some bands in the Valley you might contact to see who does their kilt repair work.
Mesa Caledonia http://www.mcpb.org/
Phoenix Scottish http://phoenixscottish.tripod.com/
Glendale Police http://www.glendaleaz.com/police/pipesanddrums.cfm
Tempe Police http://www.tempe.gov/policevolunteer...ngops-band.htm
Don't know if it'll turn up someone, but it can't hurt to ask.

Re: kilt repair
Have you tried Tandy Leather for a repair/replacement buckle. They have a few stores around the valley.
There is one kilt shop in Scottsdale. They might also be able to help.
