    Kilt belt pattern

Some 15 years ago I made a kilt belt without a pattern at all. Problem is I've expanded and the size no longer fits and I made it so that it doesn't adjust. So, does some one have a style that adjusts but will not hinder a hanging sporran. Trying to lose weight would be the best thing, but realistically that isn't going to happen!

These pictures should give you enough to go on. The only curve ball with this design is that you need a leather that's strong without being overly thick; try English bridle leather.

Belt design by Ferguson Britt, and buckle by Tyger Forge.

    Re: Kilt belt pattern

All my kilt belts are expandable. The buckle end doubles back on itself similar to the one pictured above but the "extra" is much longer and there are no studs as it is held in place with velcro. These allow an expansion of many many inches which in my case is just as well.
In this example you can see what I mean but I personally don't like this belt it is an example only.

    Re: Kilt belt pattern

Thanks on the two suggestions, I'm thinking of combining the two. My first kilt belt was static on the buckle end, and the right adjusted by narrowing down past the latch a ways, which narrow part had holes punched, but the clasp for this was on the inside of the belt and in time would wear a hole in the waist band. I didn't like this. When I made my own wasn't expanding (was also positive I wouldn't be either ).

Appreciate the challenge offer. I've become very strict diabetic who MUST have insulin but my system doesn't process it very well. Since going on insulin five years ago I've gained about 60 lbs. Been eating a 500-1200 calories a day for two years, and I gained 20 lbs. Biggest problem is I have two back injuries that prevent exercising, I can't even do walks anymore. My back muscles will seize up just brushing my teeth or getting a glass of water. But I must say go you!

Wow... I think that's the best answer humanly possible, good sir.

...let us know if you need any further help on that belt.
