Yeah, I was keeping an eye on this, but was camping over the weekend and had no internet service. Hope the person who won puts it to good use.

I have run into this problem before, it doesn't matter if you have a physical address in country, it's where you IP address is shown as, on Ebay

There are ways to circumvent it...
I didn't know about where your IP address is shown, but I've found it possible to get around that by having, say, a UK address as your primary postal address on eBay.
Obviously it's up to the seller if they agree to send it to your actual country.
Even if they It's also not going to help if you save bidding for the last minute and find that you're indeed prevented from doing so.
I noticed that one too but it runs way too big for me so decided to leave it.
These were listed not too long ago that were more my size. Again, I hope a fellow xmarker won them.

This one is described as silk velvet (in midnight blue!) which is quite a rarity these days unless bespoke.

Unfortunately, I couldn't see much need for a montrose at this time (but they are nice).

The sleeves were too short for me, anyway.

Re: ebay montrose but prevented from bidding...
I dont think its based on your IP address because most of the time I'm not in the UK when I bid on UK ebay but my main registered address is UK.
If the seller only ships to the UK then I think your shipping address needs to be a UK address too. And also you do need to have a paypal confirmed address to guarantee that the seller will want to post to that address. If the seller doesnt post to your paypal confirmed address then its not covered by paypal.
We have a very good service here called Aramex Shop and Ship, basically Aramex give you a UK and US shipping address so you can buy anything online and ship it to their UK or US address. Aramex then ship it to your home country, unfortunately this service is only available in a small number of countries but its great for me as I can buy from UK or US, and dont get any import duties either

Re: ebay montrose but prevented from bidding...
As a long time eBay vendor I can confirm that your country of registration is what matters to eBay. EBay really likes the idea that buyers can log on from anywhere in the world so your current IP address means nothing to them.
If an eBay buyer is moving round the world on a regular basis, they really should change their eBay registration details. This can make a big difference to some large vendors. Some have automatic add-on programmes, which will force them to use a very expensive international shipper to send your goods across the street.
Once a sale has started the vendor cannot include you in. The 'ships to' is part of the bones of the sale and can't be altered. He would have to stop the sale; change the 'ships to' and restart from the beginning. Too much work for no extra reward.
How can you tell if the vendor ships to your country? Under the picture on the left hand side are two tabs 'Description' (which is open by default) and 'Postage and Payments'.
That is the one you are after. It will tell you where the goods are located and, more importantly, to which countries the vendor will ship. If your country is not listed, the system will not accept your bid.
If it really becomes a problem, you could find a willing host in the other country and use their address. What you cannot do is have multiple eBay personas. Ebay have a checking programme, which scans all registrations, email addresses, physical addresses, shipping addresses for matches. They do not like a husband and wife to have separate eBay identities and they would not be able to share a bank account.

Chas
