    Weird sporran

Was just surfing ebay and came across this sporran from a well know maker. This to me is really unpleasant, looks like some old dead thing thats about to try and eat you..........or even worse

Any other weird looking sporrans around?

    I like that!!

Here's one of my favorite weird sporrans:

To me, that sporran with the rayskin insert would look great with a solid color, maybe more contemporary, kilt. Just my 2 cents though.

Good thing we all have different taste. I think I'd like it better without the toothy inside border around the panel. I like ray skin, but I would do it differently.

I would assume that they're trying to highlight the dorsal marking on the stingray pelt. But yes, it certainly conjures up some strange interpretations. I have a custom sporran that I made, but it's not necessarily strange - rather traditional but with well marked cow hide.

The most unique one I've seen is the full mask jackalope sporran. I don't know if I'd ever have a place worthy of wearing it, but I want one!

I saw this on eBay a wile back. Pretty weird.

    Re: Weird sporran

The rayskin sporran is different, but I wouldn't call it weird. I would probably like it better if the brown insert trim wasn't toothed. Taste is a very personal thing. I once saw another rayskin sporran that was done in a very traditional style, and I would chose the sporran pictured here over the more traditional one that I saw for sale, but I tend to choose what I like over tradition.
