Oh boy...
After wearing my kilt for a St Andrew's sesion with my cubs on Monday, the wife decided to buy two skirts:1 Royal Stewart and a National Pride mini.
My son saw the order page on evil-bay and kicked off as he wants one - "It's not fair dad! You've already got a kilt and your buying two more!". I quickly pointed out, that although I've been told I have good legs (including at the ceilidh on Saturday), that they did say 'ladies' so they were for mum.
"Oh, that's just GREAT!" as he stormed off - not having seen the third kilt - Scottish Heritage - was for him. Its going to be great to see his face at Xmas but will be interesting until then...
...and then he'll want a sporran, belt, hose...anyone know the winning numbers for the lottery?

Re: Oh boy...
well it is nice to see He wants a Kilt ,More kids should want a Kilt .
And even better that he is getting one .
He does not even have to worrie about when it is going to get there ,if he does not know he is going to get a Kilt.
It would be nice to not know and then ,surprise

Re: Oh boy...
Laird, you will have to have the camera ready on Christmas Day to record the change from scowl to smile on the young lad’s face!

Perhaps some leather and tools for another Christmas present and he can make his own

Having seen his attempts at sewing...maybe not.
I do have a leatherworking kit so I may have a go...

What a great family! What a great Christmas you will have!
My son won't get near a kilt, or the pipes, and he won't pay attention to a footie match. He's tried to distance himself from things that interest me... but yet he loves Bach, and Arthur Conan Doyle, and Abraham Lincoln, and so many other things that I love.

Re: Oh boy...
Many thanks.
Yes, I am very blessed to have such a family.
Even though he is from my wife's previous family, in my heart he's mine, and he fully embraces his adopted heritage. In fact HE asked ME to be his dad and loves his Scottish heritage, so I really am blessed.
We're going up to Newton Stewart in Dumfries & Galloway for a week next August and as soon as he found out he told me to pack my regalia and that's when he also asked for a kilt of his own.
