Hand sewing buttonholes on a tartan waistcoat
I've been working on making a bias cut tartan waistcoat. Everything has been going well so far, but I was very concerned about trying to do machine sewn buttonholes.
So, I did a search for making hand sewn buttonholes and found this great tutorial:
http://artbeautyandwell-orderedchaos...ttonholes.html
It's very helpful and the style taught is for 18th century style buttonholes. Nice!!

Thanks for the link! Here is another look at buttonholes made with gimp link you need to scroll about 3/4 way down to see them. Anf another that has some very detailed drawings.
Now to get to that point of completion on one of my projects. . .

In my wildest dreams, I could see changing threads the way Barb T does along the length of a pleat.
In my wildest dreams. . . you know, the ones where I look like Katherine Hepburn, cook like Martha Stewart, sing like Mary Chapin Carpenter. . . as opposed to the reality which is closer to Rosie O'Donnell, Erma Bombeck, and Roseanne Barr!

Bonnie, I tried to find your picture and fix it to show, but could not. Maybe a moderator can assist?
