So...about that Tunes Of Glory...
Someone posted a still from the film Tunes Of Glory here recently and I know that it's a big favorite of a lot of members, myself included.
Along the way there have been several threads about the tartan used for the regiment in the film and, if I remember correctly, it ended up that they had a tartan made for the costumes rather than use an existing one so they wouldn't be creating the impression that the story was actually about an existing regiment thereby doing that Dragnet thing, "the names have been changed to protect the innocent (and stave off potential lawsuits)".
Now...I seem to remember that somebody at some point in these discussions claimed to have one of these costume kilts in their possession and/or somebody had carefully examined the stills from the film and figured out the pattern.
Point being, since the films held in such high regard and an expert ought to be able to figure out the thread counts...if any rights could be cleared, would it be feasible, in this age of custom tartan weaving by the formidable Dalgliesh Co., to actually recreate the thing and have a "Tunes Of Glory" tartan. Would there be any interest?
Just asking'....

Re: So...about that Tunes Of Glory...
I bring up the rights thing because there was obviously a costume designer involved who had to cook up the design.

I did a quick search and found the link:

The tartan is "hunting Scott". It would seem that several mills weave this tartan.
