Thursday was my last day working for the Christmas holiday. I donned my USAK 5 yarder in Robertson modern. A bow tie with candy canes and a sprig of Holly from the garden to put in the bonnet were the right compliments for the festive Christmas season. The gate community where I work are use to see me kilted on Fridays, so on other days want to know why I am wearing the kilt.
One of my residents came into the office where I was seated to pay his January assessment. He moaned, I wish it was Friday to see the kilt you would be wearing. No, problem I commented standing. Wow he said perfect for Christmas. He was truly happy to see me kilted this day.
A little later another gentleman came by and pined that he wished he had a camera to take my photo. No, bother I said I have one. You take the photos with my camera and I will develop photos for you. So here are the photos he took.
[Yep, it happened!]
A lady of community later in the afternoon came by whose mother was Scottish and has a friend who is. She admired my kilt and told me how she enjoyed a Burns Supper hosted by a Scottish friend (my predecessor in this job) a few years ago. I gave her and her friend an invitation to our up coming Scottish Society Burns Night next month and she was overjoyed! A good day for kilt relations!
