Incomplete Roster?

I see a number of folks with the "honour role" banner under their names who are not listed in the roster in this Forum section? What did I miss?

Since Steve took over the forum he has made a policy of announcing all new additions to the Honours Roll. There were a few members who had already been honoured during the previous ownership and these Honours were grandfathered when the new Honour Roll was set up. In the absence of names I am assuming that you are referring to certain of our longer serving members who were already Honoured before the present Honours Roll was established.

Ah, understood! Perhaps the present roll should include all who've been so honoured...

I would be interested in that as well as I am on the list. I was not informed of it personally beforehand, from Steve or any current forum staff. I was in fact informed about it from another former moderator who was also added to the list at the same time.

We have three categories for who would receive an Honour Roll Title bar.

1) Those members who served on the staff prior to our creation of the Honour Roll. This includes members like Mike1 and Panache. These members would be grandfathered to the Honour Roll.

2) Those members who served on the staff after the creation of the Honour Roll. These members would automatically be inducted and the announcement would be in the posting of their retirement. This includes members like BEEDEE and Tartan Hiker.

3) Those members who were nominated by the general membership after the Honour roll was created. These members are inducted to the Honour Roll for exceptional or specific merit to the forum. An individual announcement is posted in the Honour Roll section of the forum for these inductions. Each induction announcement includes the reason and specifics of the service or merit. This includes members Like Hamish and Barb T.

Above each Honour Roll Title Bar you should see a brief Title that explains which category each member is in.

Sir,

On behalf of the XMTS staff, thank you for your contributing suggestion. We have discussed the fact that until now there has not been a complete list of all our Honour Roll inductees, and we've agreed with your recommendation that there should be one.

If you take a look into the Honour Roll forum now (http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f284/), you will notice a new Sticky post that contains a list of all our Honour Roll inductees to-date, as well as the nature of their contributions and their dates of induction. As more members are inducted to the Honor Roll, they will also be named therein.

Once again, thank you for bringing this to the staff's attention, and I hope that with this we have been able to clarify a muddy point and allow our valued contributors to be recognized appropriately.
