compliment for an unexpected source

I was visiting friends over the weekend to watch football and had to run out to convenience store for some snacks. I was wearing my black denim Canadian Custom kilt.

When I was at the counter, the clerk, a cute 20's female with purple hair, tattoos and multiple piercings, actually leaned over the counter to check out the kilt and said. "nice kilt - I wish I could get my boyfriend to wear one, but he doesn't have the balls."
