Traditional kilt belt adjustment

I know I saw a picture recently on this board showing the inside of a traditional kilt belt (the type with waistplate), with an inner buckle for adjusting the size. But I'll be darned if I can find it now. Can someone post it here?

Also, it seems that a lot of kilt belts these days use velcro (hook & loop) to adjust the length. Who sells traditional kilt belts that DON'T use velcro, but use an inner buckle instead?

L&M makes a very nice version, either lined or unlined, both with the traditional interior buckle adjustment.

Yes, L&M does make these style of belts and they are very high-quality. I owned several in both black and brown, grained and smooth, yet have since sold them off, as I do not wear a belt with my kilt(s) any longer - nowadays I am either beltless, or wearing a waistcoat, with my tweed jacket.

Perfect! That's what I was trying to see.

Now I have a question... when they attach the inner buckle to the belt, does it end up showing on the outside? I think I've seen some that have the short tab and buckle stitched in place, and some that are riveted. Doesn't this end up being visible on the exterior of the belt?

I like this style the best. The ends are adjustable. Simply unscrew the rivet and move to the next hole. Each end adjusts by 2 " for a total of 4". The keepers cover the screws. No buckle or velcro to harm your kilt.

I've sold a lot of these. They're made from 10 oz leather. A very solid belt.

I have one of those belts from Robert and I find it far preferable to the hidden buckle arrangement as the hidden buckle tends to dig into your side.

A tiny line of stitches doesn't really show (it's only about 1/2" long). The rivet can show - but can also be enameled black to help hide it.
