Newly registered Christmas Tartan
I have recently received notification of the entry of my new Christmas tartan into the Register.
I am well pleased!!!
It has been years in the planning and now it is finally being woven.
Cant wait to see the final product.
I have had inquiries from all over the world since the notification email.
It seems that this tartan will even be made up in kilts, lol.
Not what I had in mind when I registered it but hey the boys can do what they like.
It will be Christmas soon again after all.
The idea of having a Christmas Tartan started in 2004 whilst visiting Edinburgh during Christmas time.
It is actually strange that nobody thought of designing a Christmas Tartan before.

Ms. Murison McGowan:
I like the tartan very much. It certainly says "Christmas" to me. And, I agree wholeheartedly with your last comment in the OP.
You may be interested in a thread that was posted about two weeks ago regarding your new tartan. You can view it at ...

Any comments you choose to make would likely be of interest to a number of folks on the XMTS blog, including and maybe even especially, to me. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Newly registered Christmas Tartan
Ms. Murison McGowan in fact there is a Christmas Tartan registered. It is called Claus of the North Pole and has been woven many times.
It is registered with both the;The Scottish Tartan Authority Certificate # 7869 January 10, 2009 and a
Certificate of Inclusion into The Scottish Register of Tartans was issued August 5, 2011
Here is the tartans information.
Designer: Santa Bruce Arnold
Tartan date: 29/01/2009
Registration date: Not Specified
Category: Corporate
Restrictions: Yes. Only to be worn by members of the Clan Claus Society.
Weaving is Restricted - Contact the Clan Claus Society for permission.
Registration notes: The Clan Claus Society was formed on the 1st June 2008 and this tartan introduced for Santa and his extended 'family'. Colors: red is the traditional color for Santa Claus; green is for the evergreen holly and mistletoe which represent Christmas traditions; the three bands of yellow represent the three bags of gold that St Nicholas of Myra gave the three daughters of the merchant; the two bands of white are for purity and the snow of the North Pole.

Ina: I hope you don't mind the informality. As you have probably already gathered, the post above (#2) was written before I saw your post (#25) in the original thread. Sorry for any confusion it might have occasioned.

I regard the "Claus of the North Pole" as a "Christmas-themed" tartan, whereas the "Christmas" tartan is a "Christian-themed" tartan.
Caveat: I don't mean the above statement as a criticism of anyone or any tartan, or for that matter, any thing. It's just my opinion, and I am always open to emendation and edification.

Re: Newly registered Christmas Tartan
Dear Santa,
Thank you for your comments.
I always knew you were real, lol, (with respect of course)
There is no other "Christmas" tartan registered, apart from our "Christian" based Christmas Tartan. If there was, the keeper of the tartans, SRT, would NOT have allowed our Tartan to be registered.
Your registration clearly states:
"Restrictions: Yes. Only to be worn by members of the Clan Claus Society"
Our Christmas Tartan is in celebration of the birth of our Jesus and therefor ANYBODY in the world who celebrates His birth may wear our Tartan.
Your tartan registration also states "this tartan is introduced for Santa and his extended 'family' which is wonderful as it without a doubt brings lots of joy to your clan members. Your tartan celebrates the imaginary figure called Claus where we (the rest of the world) celebrate the real Jesus who`s birth we are actually celebrating during Christmas.
All we want to do is to tell the real story of Christmas!!!
Again I thank you most sincerely for your comments.
Ina

Ina, you may want to check out the following link (and especially #5). You are new here, and the kilted Santas are known to and loved by many.
