    Hi

I would have to say a semi trad. in black, green or saffron from USA kilts,
or you could go with something from freedom kilts.
    that's my 2cents.

I'd look at the saffron kilt from Stillwater. At 13 oz or so, it's not too hot, but it would still be a real kilt and not a skirt. If it's any lighter than 13 oz., it will likely not have the sway a kilt should when walking, and the lay won't look too good.

Hmm... that will probably rule out any of the modern canvas or "duck cloth" kilts.

If you specifically want a soft, tan coloured solid kilt, maybe a hemp kilt would be what you're looking for?

A hemp Rkilt was the way I went for hot humid Arkansas summers. It's got great pockets too. The hemp isn't light weight, but it is cool like a thick linen. I wear several SportKilts also.

    Thanks for the link.
Hemp is indeed cool in the summer and warm in the winter. However they do weigh similar to a 13 oz. wool kilt. I have found that kilts with a bit of weight to them to be cooler than the lighter weight kilts. It's the swish that keeps one cool. The heavier kilts do have motion and when the move they circulate the air around you. Even standing still a slight rocking motion is all you need to get the kilt gently moving to create a fan effect. Natural fibers be it wool, hemp, linen, breath and that's what one should look for.
