Mixed MacLeans
Since it was a nice day (spring is near in the north west) I went out in a black kilt, dark blue t shirt & lovat green hose.
I got many smiles from the luvly lasses at the store. On the was to a clothing store I was somewhat hijacked by a guy. He asked if the was some festival or something in town & why i was in a kilt. I said not that I know of & its just me goin out & about in my kilt. He must have said 6 times in 1 sentence how kewl that I was in a kilt. & 1 more as he wished me in a good day. As I walked into the store the lady in charged asked if there was anything particular I was looking for. At about that time she realized that I was in a kilt. "OH, YOURE IN A KILT. OH MY" Im not sure if the liked the look or what but she got all flustered & very attentive to my needs (I was lookin for a light green shirt for a new tie).
I ordered a MacLean of Duart weathered tie a couple weeks ago. On thursday she arrived. I himmed & hawwed between the huntin modern, ancient, MacLean of Duart ancient, modern & weathered. I knew I didnt want the hunting varients because I wanted some color & to avoid the matchy-matchy thing. Between the 3 MoDs, I always liked the weathered the best. So that was the one I bought first. You know the others will come eventually.
Before comin home I dropped through Sally Anns. There was a very nice green shirt & brand new yellow shirt. After I came home from the store, without a new shirt. I thought I would try my very light mauve with the tie along with the argyll jacket/vest & MacLean kilt. That dint work. Then I tried a dark grey shirt. That looked very nice, but it had no pizzaz. With all the kit on I went to Sally Anns. The green 1 was too dark, but the yellow was the same shade as the yellow stripe on the tie.
This brings us to now

Since I was in the picture posin mood, the lass aske if she could get 1 with just the vest.

Oh I don't know, some people manage quite successfully to make the kilt and consequently themselves, look pretty awful. I grant you though, the kilt is very forgiving.

JSFMACJR,
Without going into the history of the Maclaine/Maclean relationship suffice it to say that even though we came from a common ancester we have not been, are not, nor will we ever been one clan nor quite friendly toward one another. I will not elabroate because it is far too complicated to discuss here. Having said this, we still can be quite civil to one another so my compliment stands, Knotty looked sharp.

Yes there is a story between your Clan & mine but we all came from the same stock. That rift was long ago & has very little to do with whats goin on in the world {olive branch extended}.
I thank you for your kind words Cousin,
Craig

I'm well aware of the history of the clan. There's no need not to be friendly towards each other.
